For today, as a hundred years ago, even the most exclusive watches and clocks still function with mechanical springs. That is not to say, however, that time has stood still. On the contrary, the only feature a 1921 Engelhardt spring has in common with an Engelhardt spring from the 21st century is its general function. Essentially, the functional principle behind mechanical parts such as springs has remained unchanged.

Manufacturing and related technology, as well as materials and surfaces, however, are changing and developing at break-neck pace. Today, we use solely state-of-the-art, computer-aided electronic test and measurement equipment. Plus, thanks to the huge variety of innovative and certified materials available today, we can create spring designs that comply with the individual wishes of our customers in terms of coloration or surface design, and guarantee long-lasting products, for instance with the help of anti-corrosion coatings.
Only the spring itself is still mechanical: When producing, we are focused on computer-aided state-of-the-art precision processes.
Today in order to examine and measuring we use exclusively modern, computer-aided electronics.
